Lieke van Lexmond Interviews Dr. van der Zwan During The Heldendiner
During The Heldendiner 2013, hosted by Lieke van Lexmond, we had the pleasure of having neurosurgeon Dr. B. van der Zwan present to explain about brain tumors and the current stage of research we are in today. Dr. van der Zwan is affiliated with the Brain Center Rudolf Magnus at UMC Utrecht as a vascular neurosurgeon. He emphasizes the importance of research and refers to several breakthroughs that have significantly influenced science and technology positively. These are monumental strides that have been made recently, and the Netherlands holds an esteemed position internationally for its progressive research findings and techniques.
Biography
Dr. Van der Zwan works as a Vascular Neurosurgeon at UMC Utrecht. He obtained his medical degree from Utrecht University in 1984. In 1991, he completed his doctoral thesis titled “The variability of the major vascular territories of the human brain.” He received his specialist registration in 1997 at UMC Utrecht. Prior to his appointment at UMC Utrecht, he worked at:
